Troubleshooting

I can't find the Gantt tab

Look in the project's navigation next to the board and backlog, and under Apps or More. If it is not there, a Jira admin can check under Apps → Manage apps that YTI Gantt is installed and enabled.

Every bar is one day long

The chart has no start date field: the bars show only the due date. A message above the chart says so. A Jira admin can choose the start field in the settings.

"No dates — drag here to schedule" on issues that have dates

Their dates are in other fields than the chart uses. Choose the right start and end fields in the settings.

A date change was refused

The message names the issue and Jira's reason. The usual ones:

You may not edit this issue — you lack Edit issues (or Schedule issues for the due date) in that project. Field cannot be set / is not on the appropriate screen — the date field is missing from the project's edit screen; a Jira admin can add it. Workflow — some workflows make issues read-only in certain statuses, for example Closed.

"Saved 12 of 40 before an error"

A large move, or a draft with many changes, is saved in parts. When the connection drops or Jira stops answering part-way, the chart reads the issues again and shows the dates Jira really has: what was saved stays, the rest goes back to its old dates. In Draft mode the rest stays in the draft, so Publish sends only what is missing. Plan health lists any dependency the half-saved move leaves broken, with a Move it button.

A dependency I see in Jira has no arrow

Either its link type is not ticked as a dependency type in the settings, or the other issue is not in the plan (another project or filtered out); the ↗ count next to the summary shows such links. Widen the filter to include both issues.

Auto-schedule moved more issues than I expected

A dependency on an epic or a story with subtasks applies to every issue under it. Press Ctrl+Z to put everything back, then open the arrow to check its type and lag, or turn Auto-schedule off.

The plan says "first 10,000 issues"

The chart loads up to 10,000 issues at a time: about 5 seconds for 1,000 issues and 10 to 15 for 10,000, with the bar at the top showing how much has arrived. Narrow the JQL, for example to one release or to unfinished work.

"The plan's JQL does not work"

Jira rejected the filter; the message after it is Jira's. Fix the query in Filter, or choose This project.

The chart is read-only with a licence message

The licence on your site is not active (for example a trial ended). A site admin can renew it under Apps → Manage apps.
