Git sync

Connect Bitbucket

For Bitbucket Cloud. You need admin rights in Jira and admin rights on the Bitbucket repository.

1. Create a repository access token

  1. In Bitbucket, open the repository and go to Repository settings → Access tokens.

  2. Click Create Repository Access Token and name it FeatureBridge.

  3. Select these scopes:

    ScopeAccess
    RepositoriesWrite (Read is included)
    WebhooksRead and write
  4. Click Create and copy the token.

An Atlassian API token with Bitbucket repository and webhook scopes also works: enter it as your-email@example.com:API-token.

2. Connect it in Jira

  1. Open Jira settings → Apps → FeatureBridge.

  2. Fill in the Git sync form:

    • Git host: Bitbucket Cloud
    • Workspace: the workspace ID, for example acme in bitbucket.org/acme/shop
    • Repository name: for example shop
    • Branch and Folder with .feature files
    • Access token: the token from step 1
  3. Click Save. You should see Connected to Bitbucket ….

If the webhook could not be created

The settings page then shows a URL and a secret. In Bitbucket open Repository settings → Webhooks → Add webhook, paste the URL, paste the secret, and keep the trigger Repository push.

Existing files: click Import from the repository on the settings page (see Import scenarios).
