Troubleshooting
Each connected space shows how many messages were sent and the last error. Start there.
The test message does not arrive
“Google Chat does not accept this webhook URL any more”
The webhook was deleted in the space, or the URL was copied incompletely. Create or copy the webhook again in Google Chat (Apps & integrations → Webhooks), then Edit the space in Chatline and paste it.
“Google Chat refused the webhook (403/404)”
The webhook no longer exists, or your Google Workspace administrator turned off incoming webhooks. Ask the administrator, then add the webhook again.
“Google Chat is busy (429)”
Too many messages to one space at once. Chatline retries automatically; nothing to do.
The test works, but changes are not posted
- Is the space On, and is the kind of change ticked under Post when?
- Does the issue match the JQL filter? Run the filter in Jira issue search.
- Does the issue have a security level? Those are skipped while Skip issues that have a security level is on.
- Was the change made by an automation rule while Ignore changes made by apps and automation rules is on?
- Is the comment restricted to a role or group, or an internal JSM note? Those are never posted.
- Is the license of the site active? A notice at the top of the settings page says so if not.
Messages arrive late or out of order
During bursts Google Chat accepts only one message per second per space. Chatline queues the rest and retries for up to about 15 minutes, which can change the order slightly.
Still stuck?
Write to support@yti.digital with the space name and the error shown on the settings page. Do not send the webhook URL.
