Get started
Install and connect a channel
You need to be a Jira administrator, and a member of the Zoom Team Chat channel.
1. Install the app
Open Chatline for Zoom Team Chat on the Atlassian Marketplace and click Try it free or Get it now.
Choose your Jira site and confirm the permissions.
2. Add an incoming webhook in Zoom
In the Zoom App Marketplace find Incoming Webhook (made by Zoom) and click Add.
If your Zoom account requires it, an admin approves the app first.
In Zoom Team Chat open the channel that should receive Jira updates and send
/inc connect jira.The word after
connectis only a name for the connection; any name works.Zoom answers with an endpoint and a verification token. Copy both.
The endpoint starts with https://integrations.zoom.us/chat/webhooks/incomingwebhook/.
Treat it like a password
Anyone with the endpoint and the verification token can post to the channel. Chatline stores them encrypted and never shows them again.
3. Connect the channel in Jira
In Jira open Settings (gear icon) → Apps → Chatline for Zoom Team Chat.
You can also find it in Atlassian Administration → Connected apps → Chatline → Configure.
Click Connect a Zoom Team Chat channel, enter a name and paste the endpoint and the verification token.
Optional: limit the channel to some issues with a JQL filter, and choose which changes to post.
Click Connect, then Send test message.
A message saying Chatline is connected appears in the channel. From now on, matching changes are posted within seconds.
